Coolsculpting or SculpSure: Which One is Right for You?

If you have dedicated yourself to working out at the gym, eating healthily and overall, living a dynamic lifestyle, then you are on the right track to treating your body like a temple. However, if you have some stubborn fat over several places on your body that won’t budge, you are the ideal candidate for a non-invasive procedure. That’s where treatments like SculpSure and Coolsculpting come into play.

Body contouring alters the shape of the human body performed with non-surgical procedures. These methods are to be used when potential candidates are within 20 – 30 pounds of their goal weight. It is imperative to note that these practices are not weight-loss solutions, and should be thought of as a helpful tool along your journey.

Coolsculpting

This procedure was developed in 1999 at Harvard University. Scientists there read studies about children who were eating popsicles, then they fell asleep with them placed on their cheeks, and eventually, there was a noticeable decrease in the fat in their cheeks. The machine uses a suction cup to freeze the specific area, and numbness to occur because of the freezing temperatures.

The 50-minute session freezes and kills fat cells in a certain area with persistent fat that is resistant to diet and exercise. Massaging the area for 2 minutes after the session is crucial in breaking down the fat cells in the skin. Redness occurs over the area, of course, because of the suctioning.

Coolsculpting was FDA-approved in 2010 and has since sky-rocketed in the world of cosmetics. Doctors receive specialized training to maneuver the handheld machine, but nurses, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants can utilize the tool with training and supervision.

SculpSure

Although Peace Love Med does not perform this procedure, we are still quite knowledgeable about its process. SculpSure uses a flat, non-suction applicator that brings the temperature of fat from 107.6 to 116.6 ˚F. Because SculpSure uses heat with a flat, non-suctioning applicator, the laser can reach a little farther than the bounds of the machine to give a better blend between treated and non-treated area. It is about 25 minutes for one session of laser treatment on abdomen, flanks, back, inner and outer thighs and there’s zero downtime following.

For useful long-term results, keeping up with good eating habits, continuous exercise, and rigorous diet is critical. The price of the procedure is dependent on how large the area is that is and how many sessions will be needed to complete the entire treatment. SculpSure has no downtime; you can go about your daily routine immediately after treatment.

Which One is Right for You?

It all comes down to personal preference. Coolsculpting and SculpSure essentially have the same results with a few subtle distinctions. Coolsculpting freezes and kills the fat cells, and SculpSure uses a heat applicator Both cost around the same price but is well worth it considering they give permanent results.

The physicians at Peace Love Med are trained to use a coolsculpting applicator on patients. It is the leading non-invasive procedures for fat reduction using cryotherapy.
